is a powerhouse of Musical History, presenting the 18 to 22-piece US Virgin Islands Based Orchestra consisting of different generations of Virgin Islands musical talent. 

CMIO is a statement of innovation to preserve and sustain the US Virgin Islands' musical and cultural heritage by enabling its members to become culture bearers by sharing their knowledge through performances within their environment alongside the World's community.

Musical Director Melvin Jones 

Hailing from the "Home of the Blues" Memphis, Tennessee, Melvin Jones' first professional recording opportunity came in 1998 while attending Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. He earned his first two (2) Grammy Awards (and many more followed) by appearing on TLC's triple platinum hit album "Fanmail," notably on their smash hit "No Scrubs." Since then, Melvin has toured, recorded, and performed extensively around the World with such artists as PJ Morton, Patti Labelle, Illinois Jacquet, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Jason Marsalis, Jennifer Holliday, Stevie Wonder, Arrested Development, Young Jeezy, Marcus Roberts, The Anointed Pace Sisters, Missy Elliott, Johnny Gill, the Pussycat Dolls, Steve Turre, Gladys Knight, and over the last years with Tylor Perry and Usher, and the list goes on and on.
